then there was doubt…

“The loneliest moment in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly.”  – F. Scott Fitzgerald

Desolate
Desirous belief
Penetrating deep somber confines
Of self

Solitude
Depleted resource
A dependent studious curriculum
Of self

Fortune
Favours the bold
The meek die in the wondrous intimacy
Of self

then there was hope…

“We do not believe in ourselves until someone reveals that deep inside us something is valuable, worth listening to, worthy of our trust, sacred to our touch. Once we believe in ourselves we can risk curiosity, wonder, spontaneous delight or any experience that reveals the human spirit.”  – E. E. Cummings

Spear heading the rescue
Raft of twigs and branches
Bonded with wax and sinew
Blind in a selfless humanity

Fishing the continental shelf
Barbless hooks snare tuna
Deep ocean min-min light
Awakening like water

Woman sings a clever hymn
Withstanding aroused meditation
Calloused fists guard the prophecy
Painting artesian dreams

About Stayne

Welcome to my page and thank you so much for stopping by. I feel honoured to share some of your precious time. These are just a collection of thoughts that have popped into my head and I have managed to store here. I am hoping that one day I will find the time and inspiration to return to these thoughts to edit and craft poems out of them...ah maybe one day.
